MEDICAL DIRECTOR OF HEART TRANSPLANT PROGRAM AT UCLA

POSITION IN CARDIOLOGY/HEART TRANSPLANT

POSITION IN HEMATOLOGY/ONCOLOGY

POSITION IN CARDIOLOGY

POSITION IN  HEMATOLOGY-ONCOLOGY

Assistant ResearcherThe Department of Medicine at UCLA is seeking a candidate to  fill  the position of Assistant Researcher in the Division  of  Hematology-Oncology.  Candidates should have an M.D. or Ph.D. This  position  is available for research projects related to  human  immunodeficiency virus (HIV) pathogenesis in macrophages and  genetic  manipulation of human embryonic stem cells (hESC).

A successful  candidate  is  expected to have a strong background in molecular  and  cellular virology, as well as experience working with small  animal  models. Some expertise in culturing hematopoietic progenitor  cells  derived from hESC is also required. The candidate must be able  to  independently generate mutant HIV clones and lentiviral  expression  vectors for use with the above mentioned techniques. The  ideal  candidate will also have a proven ability to perform live HIV  culture, immunomagnetic cell sorting, and macrophage infection assays.  Experience in generating and analyzing flow cytometry data is preferred,  as  is the ability to perform molecular evolutionary analysis using  HIV  nucleotide sequences.
